Aloka Quilt VI

Aloka is a studio team in Athens, Georgia that sources and refines select vintage kanthas, committed to seeking potential in existing resources and creating beautiful, well-designed products for the home.

Aloka vintage kanthas are made from layers of saris that were hand-stitched some 60-80 years ago in India. They carefully select each for their material integrity and design and embrace the beauty and uniqueness in the material's patina that was created over time.

Aloka enjoys longstanding relationships with our textile dealers in India and a partnership with a manufacturer and textile processing house in Jaipur where we wash, dye and soften our quilts.

This product is made by the human hand. Variations in color, form, and size will occur. No two products will be exactly alike, giving you a lasting one-of-a-kind object to treasure for years to come. This is the nature of the handmade which we consider beautiful.

Dry clean recommended. If preferred, machine wash cold on gentle cycle and air dry. Wash separately. Our dyes are colorfast but with bright tones some bleeding could tint other pieces if not washed separately.
