Niels Hvass is a Danish furniture designer known for creating designs that prioritise the user experience. He values sincerity and aims to create designs that captivate and inspire. Hvass, who was born in 1958, co-founded Strand + Hvass design studio in 1991 with Christina Strand. He is also an accomplished teacher and has served on various committees and boards related to the arts.

Skagerak is a contemporary wooden furniture collection by Fritz Hansen designed with an environmentally conscious philosophy. Co-created with renowned architects and designers, Skagerak elevates modern living indoors and outdoors while expressing the Nordic connection between nature and design. The design language of the collection originates from Danish functionalism and woodcraft traditions in outdoor furniture.

This teak wood is untreated and the surface will patinate and change color over time into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year. If you wish to preserve or intensify the original color, use suitable furniture oil on a regular basis.

A general cleaning is recommended as needed with a suitable wood cleaner and soft bristle brush. Rinse afterwards with water and let it dry for 24 hours.
